Moodboard analysis and Draft of Questions
This moodboard is a representative of the target audience for my music magazine as it reflects thier interests and the famous artists within this genre. The artists used like for example Eminem are hugely popular to the moodboard as he is a very popular hip hop artist right now and he is there to represent this. Also the kind of dancing and people involved with hip hop music is in the moodbaord as many fans of hip hop tend to mirror the diffferent styles whon in this genre and that maybe fashion or dancing too.

Hip Hop magazine research
These are a few of some popular hip hop magazine in circulation at the moment. As you can see they all feature a popular hip-hop magazine as the model in order to attract more customers, its better having someone well known as Eminem than using a complete nobody that no one has even heard of before.
The front covers usually have strong eye-catching colours that contrast in order to make them stand out. This is important as the main important things stand out with the use of colour and fonts which directs the readers attention to the masthead, headline and sell lines.
The articles inside feature big eye-catching images that reflect the hip hop culture i.e gangs, weapons etc. Also at times it features double page spreads which give the reader a sense the persona of the model(s) or concerts (see below) in order for them to get a feel of the atmosphere they are missing at these events so that they may want to be a part of it in the future. Furthermore the articles are also very informative and give a lot of detail to things in order to keep the reader entertain and well informed but not boring them with t
oo much writing at the same time.
The contents page of rap magazines mainly feature one artist/model and obviously is clearly representative of your genre. The colour scheme for this page is extremely important here and like this one it should stand out and make it easier for the reader to find the relevant article they are looking for without struggling to read. That is the main aim as if the reader has to struggle to read the page the chances are that they will not buy your magazine.
These DPS pages stand out for various reasons. In the first DPS its all colourful and this is used to represent the kind of atmosphere you can get from going to these live performances which entices the reader and may make them what to go to see these performances to experience this kind of atmosphere.
The other DPS is more focused on a particular person/artist and seems to be more informative than the other as it is most likely an interview. This is important as it can be quite helpful to the audience as they might want to learn more about this person/artist. I should focus my magazine on one of these two forms as it seems to be what many other DPS' are like.

Analysing Michael Jackson
2) Michael Jackson is wearing black clothes and his hair is messed up, this suggest that he is no longer the iconic music figure the world knows but a broken man.
3) No props have been used on this image
4) You cant really see the setting but it is a natural setting maybe used to represent how Michael Jackson looks naturally.
5) No intertextual references
6) The colour black features a lot and it mainly represents death and maybe the death of his career.
!) This image has been cropped to just a mid shot to show Michael Jackson's body and to put him out there as this fresh musical talent
2) Michael is just wearing a vest and this is used maybe to reveal his physicality and make him appeal more to the target audience.
3) No props have been used.
4) The setting used is like maybe a wall from a normal neighborhood to represent him as a normal person and just like any other person in America.
5) There are no intertextual references.
6) The white vest can represent new life as he is new in the music businessn and can grow and achieve great things.

Angels magazine cover and contents page
This is a student magazine for a girl's school so it would make sense if the layout and fonts are made to fit their audience. It features a st Angelas girl in a DT workshop as the theme was working hard and success in D and T in GCSEs. The masthead is appeal as it applies to the girls "Angels". The main slogan is to portray the main message of the magazine is to provide tips for GCSE technology students.
The contents page is very important as it provides important information to the reader. The use of flowers as background is important as it is generally stereo-typically associated with girls so it is appealing to the reader in some ways. Not a lot of pictures used instead of words. The different sections are all separated to keep the different types of info away from each other and easier for the reader to find their information.

Magazine Analysis
Chelsea FC
The masthead "chelsea" features the club's name as it its a club magazine and for private circulation. Its in simple font and bold so that it is easier for fans of all ages to read.
This magazine features some of the conventions of magazines as the model is facing the reader (direct mode of address) and one of the sell lines is "Hazard's Warning" because the model's name is Eden Hazard and the article features an article about what he aims to do as he is a new player to the team at the time. The banner at the bottom is also a convention, it feature the club's main sponsors and any extra things that might be in the magazine. This cover lacks enough information as there is no indication of the price of the magazine and enough sell lines.
